New DFG position paper on information infrastructures in science
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) has published a new position paper on the further development of information infrastructures in science, which is marked by digitisation, transformation to open access, and research data management. Against the background of a far-reaching digital shift in the disciplines and persistently strong dynamics of change, the paper analyses the current situation and defines priority areas for action. It thus serves as a guide for the DFG’s funding policy for the coming years in the area of the Scientific Library and Information Systems (LIS) programme.

The position paper sets out concrete measures to support such a transformation, namely, the continuation and further development of the funding programmes `Open Access Publishing,` `Infrastructure for Electronic Publications and the Digital Communication of Science,` and `Licences for Digital Content,` the establishment of monitoring mechanisms, and the further development and adaptation of the funding guidelines for open access.
